"Off Shore" is the second volume in CBS/Sony's Sound Image Series, bringing together atmospheric recordings by Haruomi Hosono, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Shigeru Suzuki, Masataka Matsutoya, Kazumasa Akiyama, Masaki Matsubara and Tatsuro Yamashita. The selection moves through mellow fusion, sophisticated city pop, ambient electronics and sunlit instrumental grooves, creating a continuous coastal listening atmosphere. Its exceptional lineup and relaxed Balearic character make it highly recommended for collectors of Japanese environmental music, resort music and early-1980s studio productions. |
