1980 release by Japan’s legendary jazz trumpeter Terumasa Hino. Recorded in New York with top-notch musicians including Bob James, Dave Liebman, and John Tropea. This fusion gem is packed with grooves perfect for sampling: A1 “Still Be Bop” was pitched down by Alchemist on “Goin For The Gold” (featuring Conway, Westside Gunn, and Schoolboy Q) and “Lil Freaks” with Jay Worthy, while B3 “Gently,” featuring vocals by Lani Groves, was used in “Yacht Rock.” Three Alchemist-sampled tracks in total, plus plenty of other beats-ready fusion cuts.
