Taeko Ohnuki's "Aventure" is an elegant city pop album shaped by her sophisticated songwriting and distinctive, airy vocals. Polished arrangements combine synthesizers, keyboards, crisp rhythm sections and subtle jazz influences, creating a refined sound that moves between romantic pop, Brazilian-inspired rhythms and modern electronic textures. The album captures Ohnuki's transition into the sleek early-1980s style that made her an essential figure in Japanese pop, making it highly recommended for listeners of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yellow Magic Orchestra and sophisticated city pop. |
