A 1973 single from actress and singer Meiko Kaji, known for her iconic “outlaw woman” roles. The A-side “Meiko no Futebushi,” theme song for the Toei film Sasori, opens with fuzz-guitar lines begging to be sampled, matched with Kaji’s haunting vocals and a dark, psychedelic–enka groove.
Coupled with “Onna Hagure Uta,” another fuzz-soaked standout. And of course—the provocative jacket pose is absolutely killer. A cult favorite overseas.
