A limited blue translucent vinyl reissue of Makoto Matsushita's ambitious second album, originally released in 1982. Matsushita expands beyond the polished city pop and AOR of "First Light," combining jazz-funk, progressive rock, ambient textures and cinematic images of urban Tokyo. The extended title composition explores contrasting emotional states, while "The Garden Of Walls" reflects the influence of Miles Davis. Complex arrangements, atmospheric synthesizers and sophisticated guitar work make this a distinctive selection for collectors of Japanese city pop, fusion and progressive music. |
