Maki Asakawa’s landmark debut pairs her dark, smoky vocals with the poetic writing of avant-garde dramatist Shuji Terayama and arrangements by jazz composer Kozaburo Yamaki. Featuring the self-written “Yo Ga Aketara” alongside “Fushiawase To Iu Na No Neko” and “Kamome,” the album moves through intimate blues, theatrical folk, jazz-inflected arrangements, and recordings from the underground Sasoriza theatre. |
