Former Prism guitarist Katsutoshi Morizono leads "Cool Alley" with expressive electric guitar, sophisticated composition and a polished late-1970s fusion sound. The album moves between fluid jazz-rock improvisation, tightly arranged jazz-funk grooves and mellow atmospheric passages, highlighting Morizono's melodic phrasing and technical control without losing rhythmic warmth. Tracks such as "Stickshift" reveal a groove-oriented side that makes the record equally appealing to collectors of Japanese jazz fusion, guitar-driven rare groove and Electric Bird releases. |
