Kalapana’s “Lava Rock” delivers polished Hawaiian AOR through smooth vocal harmonies, melodic guitar work, bright keyboards and relaxed island rhythms. Recorded at Sea-West Studios in Hawaii, the album features core members Mackey Feary, Malani Bilyeu and D.J. Pratt alongside keyboardist Gaylord Holomalia and bassist Kenji Sano. Songs such as “Everyone Knows,” “Baby I Love You” and “Friends” blend soft rock, soul and West Coast pop into the warm, breezy sound that made Kalapana especially popular with Japanese AOR collectors. |
