A best-of collection featuring selections from Toshifumi Hinata's early masterpieces of Japanese new age and ambient music, including "Sara no Hanzai," "Natsu no Neko," "Hitotsubu no Umi," and "Story." The track selection from his early works is exceptional, but the album's biggest highlight is "Les Enfants," a beautiful new age gem filled with subtle Japanese influences. Originally composed as the theme music for NHK's "Nippon Mizu Kikou," it is also a track that can only be heard on this analog release. With growing international recognition, Hinata's music has been rediscovered worldwide. In 2019, the Dutch label Music From Memory, known for uncovering and reissuing essential Japanese, Spanish, and Brazilian new age/ambient works, released a compilation curated by Chee Shimizu, further cementing his reputation among global ambient collectors. |
