A fascinating 1974 collaboration between Dutch flute player Chris Hinze, koto master and composer Tadao Sawai, and shakuhachi master Hozan Yamamoto. The second installment of their “Super Session Trilogy” combining traditional Japanese instruments with jazz flute.

Featuring eight tracks, including the dark and ominous jam session “Keden,” the hypnotic “Wave II Nehan” built around sustained shakuhachi tones, and the abstract interplay of koto, shakuhachi, and flute on “Renri.”
